We had a great weekend staying with Mat and Mel in Oxfordshire - arrived in Luton and promptly got stuck on the M25 for 2 hours which made us feel a lot happier about living in Switzerland! It was just great catching up with them and Lily adored playing with Charlie and Lara. Poor Mat got called out to the Lister Hospital on Sunday morning and missed Kitty's baptism so Rolf had to stand in next to Mel!
Last night we had Rolf's boss - Charlotte and her husband Per and their two children - Lizzie and William, over for supper - they are Danish and have just moved over to a house on the lake, near Rolle, where Rolf's office is. They are such a lovely family and we had a great evening - organic chicken and ratatouille and Per had made a fruit crumble which we had with some double cream from Gruyere - yum! Per used to be the hairdresser to the Danish royal family so he said he would cut my hair whilst Lizzie looks after the girls, so I think I'll give that a go!
Today was my coffee date with a potential friend! and I have to say it was really lovely. I met Rosi's husband at church and they moved over in February - he suggested I gave her a call and I did and she came over with one of her kids this morning - Nina who is just 2 and so Lily adopted her and held her hand and took her up to play in her room! Rosi comes from Wimbledon, her sister's godmother is Virgina Du Hanes from St Barnabas and they've just bought a house near ours which they are going to do up and live in for the next 5 years or so - so that was just great, I've now got one friend!!
I need to start venturing out with the girls so I might get in the car this afternoon and go for a drive to the lake - Rolf's keyed in 'home' on our gps so at least I know I won't get lost on the way back!

When you have Danish people for drink do you give them white wine or are you allowed to drink something different? Great news about your new friend
Ah ha! No - we broke the rules so don't tell the Swiss Police....
