Bits and Bobs

I'm beginning to love my Wednesday's here!  It's the market in Morges in the morning and we get down there for around 10.30am, wander down the cobbled street, buy a few bits and pieces and then hang out in a cafe with a cafe au lait and a croissant - Lily always has an apple juice and then takes the froth off the top of my coffee!

Yesterday we then went to find the outdoor swimming pool and beach in Morges - it was just fantastic - a huge complex of pools, playparks and restaurant, right on the water's edge and overlooking Mont Blanc again - I know it isn't the most remarkable mountain but it does something for me every time I see it - we are surrounded by such beauty here, it is a real privilege.

We then walked along a small, stony beach with our bare feet before testing out a new playground and then going home for lunch!

This evening we drove down to the lake to have drinks with Charlotte and her family - she is Rolf's Danish boss and the family is just lovely.  Some of their team from work came so it was a nice opportunity to meet them.  Charlotte has a 15 year old daughter - Lizzie - and Lily thinks she is just the bees knees and wanders around holding her hand.  I found her down in Lizzie's bedroom going through all her make up with her and asking for her to put lipstick on her - I wonder what we'll be in for when she's 15 herself!

This afternoon a really old friend came to lunch - Clark - he was an old boyfriend of a schoolfriend of mine and came out here 20 years ago.  I haven't seen him in 20 years and so it was great to catch up again.

Tomorrow will be a quiet day which is just fine with me because I am quite enjoying not having anything in my diary - life has gone from one extreme to the other and its actually quite releasing to have no plans!  Saturday we drive to Baden, just beyond Zurich, to celebrate Rolf's father's 75th birthday - we'll stay overnight at the hotel where the party will be and then go to his parents for lunch and a swim on Sunday - the weather continues to be glorious - 28 degrees, blue skies and a gentle breeze.........
