Bank Holiday Monday




A beautiful sunny day so we took out fabulous gastronomic guide book and found a mountain hut in the Jura and booked our table for 12.  We drove half an hour or so, away from the lake and into the mountains and eventually got to the Buvette de Chatel - at 1400 metres, surrounded by forests and cows with lovely big bells!  The menu was simple but terrific - wild mushrooms on bread, bacon and cream pasta and dried meats - we declined the fondue!  As is Lily's new relationship with Swiss Cheese, she hid under the table as it was all too smelly.  But came out for the meringues with cream (made from the owner's cows that morning)....
