We drove up to Baden on Thursday evening as it was Swiss National Day on Friday and we wanted to celebrate with Hubi and Gegi. The journey takes around 2 1/2 hours and is pretty easy - motorway most of the way. Friday was a day of thunderstorms in the morning and then it brightened up in the afternoon. We went up to the castle and town of Baden and Lily had a flag painted on her cheek! Then in the evening we walked up to the top of the road to watch the fireworks over the castle - great sight but Lily got frightened and was worried that the noise might wake Pia up, so we came home to bed!
We drove back on Saturday night and spent Sunday at home, going to church in the morning and then a late swim up at Aubonne. There are some fabulous views from Aubonne and we're growing to like the town a lot - so much so that we might even think of buying somewhere as there are going to be 5 new houses being built opposite us at some point and we don't fancy being on a building site for the next few years!
Anyway, we're looking forward to Susi Jenkins coming over on Friday for a few days - we'll probably go to Gruyere or on a boat to Yvoire on Sunday. And I've booked a restaurant in Chexbres for Saturday night just for the two of us - its meant to have the most stunning views over the lake and is inbetween Lausanne and Vevey.....
