Hurrah, we've arrived

Saturday night and we've just watched Ratatouille in the hotel bedroom - Rolf with a beer, Lily in the middle with her Teddy and me with a glass of the local chateau de vin blanc. We spent most of the day at the house, trying to unpack but it was quite difficult - Lily just fiddles too much and it was scorching hot - over 30 degrees. Rolf thinks we can see Mont Blanc from our bedroom window but he says every mountain we see with snow on top is Mont Blanc, so I'll have to ask a local.

Vufflens le Chateau had its annual artisan fete today - loads of little stalls set out around the castle. We had lunch there - local ham and tomato salad with chips - sorry Alice, but it had to be. Lily had her face painted like a butterfly and we got talking to some of the village ladies - a lovely bunch of friendly people who all seemed to know the owners of the house we are renting.

Tomorrow we'll spend the day enjoying this fabulous hotel - the Lausanne Palace - and then we'll move out on Monday and try and get the house sorted. Will probably take a week or so I guess.

Missing everyone terribly but it still feels like we're on holiday, I guess it won't sink in for a while....
